God’s Cosmic Cookbook – A great present for Christmas
If you think it’s important for kids to see science and faith as complementary, not conflicting, God’s Cosmic Cookbook could be exactly the Christmas present you are looking for. With its state-of-the-art science, laugh-out loud humour and accessible language, it is a great book to read with children or for them to read on their own.
Science and faith… kids need to know
Bible stories aren’t there to teach us science, but to help us understand who God is and how important we are to God. Science can’t tell us anything about things like this! If we don’t want our children to think that God and science are opposed or, at best, have nothing to do with each other; we need to explain this.
NEW… NEW… NEW…
This month sees a major revision of the draft teaching resources to accompany God’s Cosmic Cookbook.
Broken into six bite-sized sections, the course helps teachers, parents and youth group leaders use GCC in a teaching or discussion-group setting with minimal preparation. Encouraging group participation throughout and with great ideas for follow-on activities after each session, kids are allowed to explore and develop their own views.
Leaders need no scientific expertise and can apply the course in full or in part.
Church Times Feature on GCC
Dennis Richards featured God’s Cosmic Cookbook among his pick of the latest education book titles in May’s Church Times Educational Supplement.
He describes the book as ‘…light-hearted in tone, but rigorous in its science. . . If ever science can be said to be fun, this volume will go a long way towards convincing you.’

God’s Cosmic Cookbook at Lee Abbey
Check out the short science and faith courses run every year by Lee Abbey in Devon, UK.
There was a great course this March run by Profs John Bryant (Genetics) and Graham Swinerd (Space) – ‘From the Big Bang to Biology: where is God?’
They kindly featured God’s Cosmic Cookbook at the same time and the response to both books was fantastic.
